Christmas in December, the Way it's Supposed to Be!!!

Not much more to say than what each picture will delineate. However, even though we captured the event on video; it is regretful that we did not take a picture of us smashing the 'snowpeople family' to oblivion with an old wooden bat and some axes!! Good times. We did however have a fantastic Christmas and enjoyed all of the time spent with family and friends.

One evening we came home from a basketball game to find a huge Christmas tree in our front room.(Thank you Caine family and their friends for having an extra tree and thinking of the Findlay's.) Being full of Christmas cheer we decide to put it up and decorate it. It was too tall and heavy for the stand, which we had to borrow from the Schobers(thanks again), so we just leaned it up against the wall. All in all I think it turned out pretty swell.

So yeah...it actually didn't look that bad in person. We had to prop the star up with three taped together shish kabob skewers, ghetto we know, but we felt good about ourselves.

Ahh the great ski trip of 08'! OK so it was just two Cams wearing ski goggles in the living room, I still remember it well. (We were experiencing some intense UV that day, good thing we had our goggles!)

This is actually Jack's dolly that G-Ma Welcker gave her for Christmas. Cam loved carrying the doll around and talking to it. Apparently all of that caring and carrying makes a boy thirsty!

This is a stuffed pink rabbit that our 'Neighbor Grandma' gave Jack before she migrated to Vegas for the winter. Cam got a brown and white rabbit that needs to be shot so he took Jack's rabbit. (FTR: My wife still thinks the pink rabbit is a pink dog.)

Chillin' with the cousins at G-Ma Findlay's for Christmas. We love Stormi's expression. Cam still randomly says "Sami, Stormi" on a daily basis.

Cam and G-Pa Findlay waiting for everyone to start opening their presents.

Drowsy driving at it's best!

Like always Jack would rather play in the shiny, crinkly wrapping paper then anything else.

We think they conspired with each other on this spatula heist but the investigation is still underway.

We all know what she's thinking, "Thanks Susan, these will be great for spanking little naughty keasters!!!" The kids: Uhhhh, we already have a bunch or spoons and spatulas at home, this can't be good.

It might appear that Daddy's singing opera style but he's really just reading.

We love it when Cam reads to us, haven't been able to understand much of it yet but we don't mind. And look, proof that Daddy's shadow really does have a bigger nose than he does!!! I always knew it but now I can prove it!

It wasn't the fastest sleigh ride I have ever been on but the effort was appreciated.

Much better. Let dirty ole' gravity do all the work! Grandpa pulled grandkids around the front yard for about an hour!

Woot woot to all involved in the building of the snow people family. Props to Becky for thinking of the beard and the crazy hair! Thanks Grandma for getting everyone outside and coming up with the snow people idea. Hopefully this will become a Christmas tradition.

Cute, cute, and cute! The only problem is that when a picture is attempted that involves Jolynn something is always amiss. Both kids are looking at the camera and smiling but Mommy has her eyes closed.

Now, even though Mommy looks sooo cute, the kids have lost their focus. The third attempt at this picture(Priceless moment in our family's life!) is blurry.

Cam loved playing in the snow.

He especially liked it when Kasey played with him. Props to Kasey for playing with Cam the whole time they were together, he loved it!

How much better would this picture be if there was a snowball in it headed straight for his noggin!?

This is the first time that we(Mommy) curled jack's hair. The poor thing grows hair almost as fast as a beach ball!!

Give her a couple of years and she could be a regular 'Whoville' citizen.

Ah the candy cane gingerbread house. As you can see it was build structurally sound. Notice the 'support pretzel' holding up the interior wall. Furthermore, the best thing about a candy cane chimney is that it doubles as an air freshener.

It took some time getting the 'Christmas Corn Lantern' to stay put, yes it is suspended in the air, but we figured it out.

I still say that hat makes her look like a turnip! It is questionable why they charge so much to see elk, what kind of 401k are the animals getting anyway!!

A father and son patiently waiting in line...or is it?! What's up with the mysterious sun-glassed person in the back!?

However, at this angle the hat makes her look a little bit like Mrs. Potts.

This year we decided that presents we actually made ourselves would mean more, at least to us, than something we just picked up from the Wal*. This is one of the bows we made for Daisy, our niece. We also made shirts and sweaters but in the excitement of it all forgot to take any pictures of them.

This is the first bow we ever made, yeah for us!

At our ward Christmas party my 'Santa hat' decided to attack my freshly shorn head.

The kids very first encounter with the Claus! Memorable, maybe not, but at least their parents got some candy out of the whole thing!!!

Aw, what cute christmas pictures! Looks like you guys had a good time. I particularly like the santa fuzz left on the shaved head-yet another reason to grow your hair out! And I agree, why are you paying to see elk when you live in UT? Go on a hike, you'll see some!

DO ya'll live in Northfield. I recognize the tall heater, the flooring, etc. We lived there for our first two years in Cedar, it's where Makayala first came home to...Oh, memories!

I LOVE the blog, great pictures and commentary to accompany.

Congrats on another baby, number three...Wow, you go girl. When are you due? I can't seem to do the math very well with the count down thing.

We only have four right now, you guys are trying to catch up fast ;-)...Congrats! Kids are awesome! Do you get sick Jodi? I hope not for your sake.

Bryan is the Tile Man...He has one employee right now and has been building up the business for 2 1/2 years, he LOVES stone and tile and studying the industry. He does not like looking like a scrub most of the time though...you can see some of his work on his blog that is linked to ours.

Take care, you guys!
