Cam Baby

Because we had a Jack showcase we should also have one for Cam. We have a lot of great pictures of Cam from various times throughout the past years and hope they are enjoyed by all. Because Jack just sat there and cried for the first, oh I don't know...nine months of her life, we have a few more pictures of Cam in this post then we did in Jack's.

As always, the most jacked up pictures we have of our kids are Jolynn's favorites. This one depicts Cam wearing the top of his 'attachment potty' on his head like a hat. He frequently puts random things on his head and call them hats.

We won a smores kit at a ward party for taking third in the dutch oven cook off. This stick was one of the things the kit came with and because we already have good metal roasting sticks we decided to use it for feeding at a distance!

Gabby is a neighbor friend of Cam's. One day she came over and they went for a good old fashioned swing...in a swing.

Whoa!!! What's this now, good ole Gabby putting the moves on Cam baby! I wish we knew what he was thinking because his facial expression is golden.

From time to time Cam attempts to break out of his crib. Unfortunately for him, he receives the same outcome every time; high centered and screaming on the guard rail!

Oh the humanity!!!

We didn't really make this moment in our family public knowledge but one Sunday, right in the middle of sacrament meeting, Cam did a backwards cannonball off the bench and landed his noggin on the corner of the hymn book holder. The gash was deep enough that we decided to take him to the emergency room, unfortunately missing the rest of church.

The worst part of the whole ordeal was when daddy had to hold Cam baby down on his stomach, similar to what you see on C.O.P.S., so that the doctor could put these bad boys in his head. All the while his mother stood at the front of the bed looking like a saint, trying to comfort him!!! What a raw deal!

We had no idea that when people talked about 'staples' in the medical world they actually mean staples! These things could have just as well been used to keep papers together or hang up Christmas lights. We were hoping for plastic or synthetic staples, something with less Soviet Union style, but no dice.

FTR: His head has healed with no noticeable scare.

Cam prefers to wear hats when he goes out on the town. His head is big enough that any of mommy's hats fir perfectly. His love of sport is so intense already that he will not let us go to games without the coveted D-Fence signs. Sometimes he busts them out to wake Jack up from a nap or cheer for a team on TV.

He hasn't quite mastered the whole D-Fence thing because he always shouts "Offense" instead of "Defense". He has the actions down however, so we know at least his heart is in the right place.

Cam is becoming quite the sports enthusiast. He loves screaming and yelling at sporting event and games on the tube, just like the daddy! At this particular game, SUU vs. Weber State, the action was so intense that he quickly got into his zone.

We made a hobbit door for the kids out of a cardboard box we had and Cam loves running through it and yelling whatever comes out.

These are the suspender straps that go on the dog in the game 'Ants in Your Pants' and he always likes so wave them around saying, "Snakes, snakes." We aren't sure how he made that connection but it sure is fun watching him.

On this particular night we put Cam to sleep in our bed so we could watch a movie in his room, where the TV is. When we finished the movie and went in to our room to go to sleep we tried opening our bedroom door with little avail. Something was blocking the door from the inside. After we slowly pushed the mysterious object away from the door we saw this; Cam dead asleep with a headlight in one hand and his blanket in the other. It was so funny we had to take a picture.

If Cam could play in water everyday he would. Our blow up kiddie pool is almost like a hot tub because we use a hose to fill it with hot water from our kitchen sink. The hard part is convincing him that it's time to come back inside.

As clearly demonstrated, splashing is his favorite water activity!

Part of the 'bedtime routine' is reading a few verses from the good book. As big boys do he has to have his own book. We're not sure how much he gets out of it turned upside down but at least he's trying.

Mommy asked us to stop for a second so she could get a picture with our faces.

Just a cute kid. Those two bottom teeth have held their own for awhile against a practically full upper set.

We tried to get a candle to melt all over a glass bottle for kicks and giggles but we found that candle technology has either become greatly enhanced or doesn't exist because the candle just sat there and no cool dripping occurred. However, as documented by this photo, Cam thoroughly enjoyed watching the "fire" and repeating a thousand times "fire."

With little resistance we were able to ween Cam off the binkie before he was one. Unfortunately, he now thinks it is hilarious to steal Jack's binkie, put it in his mouth, and run all over the house while we try to catch him. Most of the time Jack screams in the car is a direct result of a binkie snatching.

Cam thought an old baby wipes box would be a great place to hide in. He miscalculated his dimensions a bit. If any Costco people are checking this blog out you can send the advertising revenue directly to our account. That also goes for Kroger!

Well I have to say, I never thought we would be a 'time out' family but it has happened. Surprisingly the 'doormat island' works perfectly and he doesn't move once placed on it.

I have to say, TheFindlay Blog of Awesomeness has got to be the most entertaining blog on our list. Those pics of Cam are great!
